This is Smart's third occasion being named All-Defense and all three times getting voted on the All-Defensive First Team as arguably the league's best defensive guard, while this is Williams' first nod for All-Defensive team honors.
The Celtics, who finished with the NBA's best Defensive Rating for the 2021-22 season, had a league-high six total players who received votes for All-NBA Defensive Teams including -- Jayson Tatum (one First Team vote, two Second Team votes), Jaylen Brown (one First Team vote), Al Horford (one First Team vote) and Derrick White (three Second Team votes).
