On a night where Orlando shot better from 3-point land and out-rebounded the Celtics at the TD Garden, it was Amir Johnson who came up big in the final seconds to help fend off the visiting team in a 117-116 win over the Magic on Friday night.

Bucks 103 - Celtics 100: C's come up short down the stretch against Bucks


After erasing a 14-point deficit, the Celtics couldn't put a lid on Milwaukee's inside scoring and came up short in the final minutes of regulation.

Celtics made two consecutive defensive stops in the final minute -- one by Al Horford on All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo and the other was a 24-second violation -- and Isaiah Thomas' layup pulled the Celtics to within one point (101-100).

Celtics 112 - Heat 108: Front court steps up in win over MIA, C's now tied with Cavs for No. 1


It's not something you see on a consistent level but when the Celtics front court put together the kind of production we saw against the Heat -- on both ends of the floor -- Boston is very difficult to beat.

Anchored by Jae Crowder, the Celtics front line was sensational against the Heat and made all the difference in the second half, where the C's grabbed their first double-digit lead and eventually their 48th win of the season.

Celtics 130 - Suns 120: Devin Booker's historic 70 points still not enough for Suns to top Celtics


Not even 70 points from Suns guard Devin Booker could bring his team close to grabbing a lead -- Phoenix never had a chance at winning the game -- but the incredible individual performance by Phoenix's young star is one the Celtics franchise has never seen before.

From tip-off until the final buzzer, the Celtics dominated the lowly Suns while giving little to no hope of closing their deficit and turned in what should have been their most lopsided victory of the season.

Al Horford on rest and scheduling: 'The NBA will have to look into something'


Celtics big man Al Horford weighed in on the debate regarding NBA teams resting their best players in preparation for next month's postseason.

After a national televised game between the Cavaliers and the Clippers in which Cleveland elected to rest all three of their All-Star players, NBA commissioner Adam Silver issued a statement to team owners this week threatening to hand down "significant penalties" if teams continue to sit its marquee guys.

Celtics 109 - Pacers 100: Impressive win over Pacers puts the Celtics in position to grab No. 1 seed


Don't look now but the Celtics are now in stride to top the Cavaliers for the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

With 10 games left in the regular season, the C's are trailing the champs by one game and are showing no signs of slowing down. In Wednesday night's 109-100 win over the Pacers, all nine Celtics players played a role in taking care of home court for the second straight night.

Celtics officially clinch a playoff berth for third straight season


For the third straight season, the Boston Celtics are heading back to the postseason. The C's officially clinched a playoff berth on Tuesday night, despite it being an off day, with the help of the Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons, who each lost their games respectfully. Both teams are fighting for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East with less than a month left in the regular season.

For a team that entered Monday night's game as the fifth-worst rebounding team in the league, the Celtics rarely ever out-rebound their opponent.

But when it came to facing the Wizards at home with playoff implications on the line, the C's looked like a team that just simply wanted it more.

76ers 105 - Celtics 99: Sixers rally from 13-point deficit to beat the C's


We've seen it many times before this season, where a team rallies from a double-digit deficit, hitting clutch 3-pointers in front of a cheering home crowd as all the momentum is in their favor. Such was the case at the Wells Fargo Center for the underdog 76ers, who without Joel Embiid pulled out an impressive 105-99 comeback win against the second place Celtics on Sunday.

On Saint Patrick's Day, Isaiah Thomas was out with a knee injury and the Celtics needed someone to carry them at the Barclays Center. Turns out Jae Crowder was the lucky charm, as he led Boston to a 98-95 victory over the Nets on Friday night.

Isaiah Thomas to miss weekend road trip with a knee injury


Isaiah Thomas will miss this weekend's two-game road trip to Brooklyn and Philadelphia. The Celtics announced on Thursday that the All-Star suffered a right knee bone bruise, and will not travel with the team when they face the Nets Friday and the Sixers on Sunday.

Celtics 117 - Timberwolves 104: Isaiah Thomas, Al Horford lead C's over Timberwolves


At halftime, it felt like the Timberwolves were going to push the Celtics to a nail-biting finish but the Celtics had other plans.

Heading into the second half, the Celtics rallied behind an offensive run, buckled down on defense and eventually diminished any hopes of seeing Minnesota pull off an upset.

With 15 games remaining in the regular season, the Celtics have a legitimate chance of heading into the playoffs with the second-best record in the east behind a solidified rotation and a healthy roster.

Unlike some of the other elite teams in the league -- Cavaliers, Warriors, Spurs -- the Celtics' starting lineup is at full strength, something Boston is just now starting to get used to this season.

Celtics 100 - Bulls 80: Behind stellar defense, C's blowout Bulls in matinee at TD Garden


The Bulls needed the second quarter to reach double figures in points, the third quarter to score at least 30 and a miracle to close their deficit.

The Celtics not only held Chicago to nine first-quarter points in Sunday's 100-80 blowout victory, they also played with the kind of defensive intensity that should put them in great position to grab the second seed in the Eastern Conference, and hold onto it.

Clippers 116 - Celtics 102: Blake Griffin & Clips cruise to victory, C's blow another double-digit lead


After suffering a heartbreaking loss to the Suns on Sunday, the Celtics looked to get back on track during their five-game West coast road-trip when they rolled into the Staples Center 24 hours later.

Boston looked poised to pick up a win until the last minute of the third quarter when the Clippers scored 11 unanswered points on their way to a 116-102 loss on Monday night.

Boston looked like a well-oiled machine at the Staples Center on Friday night when they led by as many as 31 points through three and a half quarters before Los Angeles cut the deficit to 15.
