Celtics forward Jared Sullinger was arrested over the weekend over domestic situation and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
According to the Waltham Police Department, Sullinger is charged with assault and battery, malicious destruction of property and witness intimidation. The incident occurred Saturday evening.
Shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, Sullinger turned himself in. Sullinger appeared in Waltham District Court on Tuesday and entered a plea of not guilty.
He was released on $5,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court again Sept. 19.
Celtics released a statement this afternoon addressing the incident:
"The Celtics were disappointed to learn of the allegations against Jared and are currently gathering more information on the situation, which we are taking very seriously. We will reserve further comment until such point that we have sufficient additional information."The Celtics drafted Sullinger last summer in the 2012 draft and was a key contributor to in his rookie season before undergoing back surgery in early February, ending his season.
He has been rehabbing all summer in hopes of returning for the start of the season.
