Celtics draft Robert Williams of Texas A&M

With the No. 27 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, the Celtics selected big man Robert Williams Thursday night.

The Texas A&M product that was projected to be off the board well before Boston's first-round pick, fell into the Celtics' lap -- a pick that was essentially a no-brainer for the C's. At 6-foot-9, Williams'
7-foot-6 wingspan makes him a unique rim protector for Boston and he has the versatility to guard multiple positions.

Williams is an ideal big man for the Celtics. The Clint Capela comparisons are accurate, however, his raw offensive skill set will need a bit of tweaking.

Still, under Brad Stevens he won't have any issues adapting to a defensive-minded culture, he'll have plenty of time to develop offensively.
