The father of Celtics second-round pick Tremont Waters, Edward Waters Jr., was found dead Thursday evening.
According to WTNH, Waters Jr.'s body was found on the floor of a Super 8 Hotel room in West Haven, Connecticut. He was 49-years-old.
No sign of what may have led to Waters Jr.'s death. He was unresponsive to paramedics when they arrived to the scene after receiving a phone call of a man who was possibly injured or sick, and was pronounced dead shortly after paramedics arrived to the scene.
The news comes on the same week the Celtics and Waters agreed on a two-way deal and the morning after the Celtics' win in Las Vegas against the Grizzlies. No word on if Waters knew of his father's death before or after the game.
Waters is a native of West Haven, Connecticut, where he attended Notre Dame high school.
