Celtics guard Marcus Smart will not be traveling with the team to Brooklyn for Sunday night's game against the Nets due to meniscus damage suffered in Friday night's game against the Nets.
According to WEEI.com, Smart underwent an MRI on Saturday for his injured left knee that he suffered against Brooklyn on Friday and will not travel with the team for Sunday's game and Tuesday night's game at Atlanta.
A source also told WEEI's Mike Petraglia that while doctors feared damage to Smart's tibiofibular subluxation in his left knee, Evan Turner was also evaluated on Saturday. Turner underwent an MRI for damage to his meniscus and poplitel tendon but doctors ruled him alright to play.
Turner, who suffered a right knee strain during the preseason, hasn't missed a game this season. For Smart, this will be his second injury this season. He's missed three games this season due to a toe injury.
The Celtics have recalled rookie guard Terry Rozier and second-year forward James Young from the Maine Red Claws of the D-League. They will rejoin the Celtics for the upcoming games at Brooklyn and Atlanta.
