The Celtics and Marcus Smart agreed on a contract extension that will keep the four-year guard in Boston for at least four more years.
After reports of a potential deal surfaced Wednesday, both sides agreed on a four-year, $52 million deal, according to Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.
Smart averaged 10.2 points, 4.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds last season. He's emerged as the Celtics' best back court defender throughout his NBA career and is considered an anchor to Boston's hard-nosed defense that is one of the best in the league.Restricted free agent Marcus Smart has agreed to a four-year, $52M deal to return to the Boston Celtics, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) July 19, 2018
