Celtics, Jabari Bird agree to a two-year deal

Celtics prospect Jabari Bird earned his first guaranteed contract Thursday.

The Celtics inked the second-year guard to a two-year deal, according to Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania. Bird wowed fans in this month's Summer League competition and will reportedly sign a contract that guarantees the first year with a conditional tag to the second year, according to Boston Globe's Gary Washburn.

After receiving meaningful minutes in a handful of no-so-meaningful games last season just before the start of the postseason, Bird provided a glimpse of his offensive arsenal before showcasing himself in Las Vegas. He led the Celtics in scoring with 16.8 points to go with six rebounds and three assists a game.

Bird was drafted No. 56 by the Celtics in 2017.
