The Celtics will meet LeBron James in the postseason for the fifth time since 2008, first meeting since the Eastern Conference Finals in 2012. Much has changed in the last three years for both sides, for one LeBron has gone from hot sunny South Beach to Cleveland, while the only ones who remain from that C's last great playoff run is Brandon Bass and Avery Bradley (who did not play in the ECF due to his two-shoulder injuries).
If you remember, Bron Bron and the Heatles had their backs against the ropes after losing three in-a-row to go down 3-2 going back to Boston. Of course in game six, James put on by far his best performance of his career on his way to his first championship. So it's fair to say LeBron over came adversity over the Celtics and the new Big Three while in Miami. But how can you forget the image of the mighty Cavs in 2010 being eliminated by Doc Rivers in six games at the TD Garden, where LBJ took off his jersey for what we all thought would be for a final time (in reality it was only four years).
While the 2015 Cavs (53-29) are considered contenders in a weak conference, and the Celtics (40-42) are the surprise team of the East. No one believed they could compete for a playoff berth never mind clinch the seventh seed. All things considered Brad Stevens will not settle for only making it to the big dance, he and these young C's want to make noise and cause trouble. What better way to get noticed than to interrupt the universe of what is 'suppose' to happen in this year's postseason?
The two hottest teams in the conference since February 2; the Celtics (24-12) and Cavs (23-9) are set to play each other in the first round of the NBA playoffs beginning this weekend, after they split their season series 2-2
