The Maine Red Claws (5-2) beat the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (3-5) 110-106 at the Portland Expo Building last night. Celtics rookies James Young, Dwight Powell and Marcus Smart were all assigned to Boston's D-League affiliated team just hour before tip-off.

Young finished with a game high 31 points while shooting 7-of-10 from 3-point range. The swigman also grabbed nine rebounds, handed out three assists and stole the ball three times in 37 minutes of action. Powell finished his night as the second leading scorer with 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting in 28 minutes. Smart, who made his Red Claws debut had a tough shooting night. The point guard went 1-of-12 from the field (0-of-8 from downtown), but did lead the team with seven dimes. He grabbed five rebounds and four steals. Smart also turned the ball over four times in 29 minutes.

It was the third trip up north for big man Powell and guard/forward Young, who both pleaded their case for more playing time off Brad Stevens' bench. Despite Smart's lack-luster shooting performance, he did get some quality in game-reps. Something he needed to get back into game shape since his ankle injury nearly a month ago. All three are expected to be re-called later today in time for when the Celtics host the visiting Los Angeles Lakers at the TD Garden. Tip-off is at 7:30

In the meantime check out some links of highlights below from James Young and the "Play of the Night" from Marcus Smart feeding Dwight Powell:
