Rajon Rondo made his official debut for Dallas last night, in a home game against the NBA Champion; San Antonio Spurs. It was first game as a Maverick since being traded from the Boston Celtics along with Dwight Powell on Thursday night for Jameer Nelson, Brandan Wright, Jae Crowder and two future draft picks.

The Mavs beat the Spurs 99-93 as Gregg Popovich elected to rest all five of his starters and sixth-man Manu Ginobili. Rondo finished his night with 6 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 4 turnovers in 34 minutes as a starter. The former Celtic shot 3-11 from the field in the victory, while his backcourt teammate; Monta Ellis led all scorers with 38 points including 11-straight in the final four minutes.

Afterwards Rondo, who had a day to learn a few new plays with his new team was asked how he felt being out on the court with his new teammates.

"It was exciting," he said. "Best part was we got the win."

Dirk Nowitzki had an off shooting night, going 4-14, had this to say about his new point guard: "I actually think that he knows the plays better than some of our own guys."

Rondo's first points came in the third quarter with 7:59 to play on a drive that the officials called goaltending on by Spurs forward Boris Diaw.

In case you're on the Rajon watch with the Mavericks, their next game is on Monday against the Atlanta Hawks at the American Airlines Center. Tip-off is at 8:30.

We suggest NBA League pass as a suitable option.
