James Young out for at least 2 weeks

James Young will be out for at least two weeks due to a right shoulder injury he suffered earlier this week.

While playing with the D-League's Maine Red Claws, Young landed on his shoulder after he reached for a pass and made contact with an opposing player.
"When I first felt it pop out, I thought I would miss some time," Young said. "I thought it was going to be longer; they said it would be two weeks. That's a good thing."

Celtics coach Brad Stevens gave reporters an update before last night's Knicks game.
"There was a little bit of muscular damage that he can rehab hopefully without surgery," coach Stevens said.

Another setback for the rookie, who is having a rough rookie season. Back in October, Young suffered a hamstring injury that forced him to miss most of the preseason schedule.

Young was sent to the D-League in an attempt to gain in-game experience. He was expected to be back in Boston yesterday before the Knicks game. Now it looks like he won't be back with the Celtics until at least January.
"It's frustrating, man," Young said. "But I just have to keep my head up, keep my confidence high."
"I know my time is going to come."
Young is expected to be reevaluated after two weeks of rehab.

In five games with the Red Claws, Young is averaging 22.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game.
