The Celtics announced Monday night the signing of JD Davison to a two-way contract, via a social media post.
This will be Davison's third straight two-way deal with the C's after being selected No. 53 overall out of Alabama back in 2022. He has logged a total of 105 minutes in 20 games over the past two seasons at the NBA level.
The 21-year-old point guard finished this past season averaging 21.5 points, 8.5 assists, and 5.1 rebounds in 34.3 minutes per contest in 44 games played with the Maine Celtics -- while earning NBAG League Third Team honors after helping lead the team to their first G League Finals appearance ever.
Davison, who was not offered a qualifying offer by the Celtics at the end of June because he was ineligible for another two-way QO -- which would've been a one-year, partially guaranteed standard contract -- will play for Boston's Summer League roster this weekend in Las Vegas, alongside rookies Baylor Scheireman (No. 30th overall pick) and Anton Watson (No. 54 overall pick) from last month's draft and newly signed Neemias Queta as well.
The Celtics are down to one two-way spot available after the signing of Davison and Drew Peterson (last week).
