Breaking: Sullinger rumored in a deal to Charlotte for No. 9 pick

Associated Press

In today's sports world social media is the new place to find out what trade is about to go down before it actually happens.

That was the case today when Jared Sullinger's Twitter account blew up this afternoon when he followed the Charlotte Hornets' Twitter account. Speculation of a potential deal involving the Hornets' No. 9 pick in tonight's NBA Draft makes the most sense for the Celtics.

Sullinger's Twitter
Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge is looking to trade up and acquiring a top ten pick should be enough for him to draft the big man the C's so desperately need. No word on who the Celtics would draft at No. 9 but if I was a betting man I'd bet my money on Kentucky's Willie Cauley-Stein.

The forward/center prospect's stock has dropped considerably after being red flagged for a foot injury he suffered a couple of years ago. Cauley-Stein would be a good addition for the C's. He's a solid pick-and-roll defender and a good rebounder; something the C's desperately need.

This week, Cauley-Stein told a group of reporters that he would love to play for the Celtics and enjoys the thought of being reunited with Celtics guard James Young. So that most definitely helps his chances if this potential deal does go through. Cauley-Stein played one season with Young at Kentucky two seasons ago.

We will keep you updated if any trade becomes official.

Update:
The rumored deal is still in the works but here's the reported offer:
