Jaylen Brown has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played from December 22 through 28, the NBA announced Monday.
The Celtics went 2-1, with Brown put up averages of 32.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.7 steals this week, while shooting 55.9% from the field, 42.9% from three, and 80% from the free-throw line.

Brown is in the midst of a historic run for the month, as he has tied Larry Bird (1985) for the most consecutive 30-point performances in franchise history at nine straight games. This past week, he notched 31 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 1 steal in a comeback win over the Indiana Pacers on Monday and followed that up with a 30-point, 4-assist, 4-steal performance once again against the Pacers on Friday in a 140-122 victory to complete the sweep of a home-and-home.
On Sunday, in a 114-108 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, Brown tallied 37 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, for his ninth consecutive game with 30 or more points, a franchise record he now shares with Bird. Brown has a chance to break that feat when Boston faces the Utah Jazz Tuesday night -- which would be a crucial moment of his career as the current longest tenured Celtic.
With two Player of the Week awards, Brown has a good shot to win Player of the Month honors -- a accolade he had never achieved in his 10-year NBA career -- as he leads the league in scoring so far in December at 32.7 points per game, to go along with 6.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists per contest.
Jaylen Brown snubbed as starter in first All-Star voting return
Jaylen Brown has received the sixth-most All-Star fan votes in the Eastern Conference, per the NBA's first returns, released Monday.
Brown is at 808,276 votes received, trailing Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo (1,192,296), Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (1,072,449), New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (1,040,601), Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham (1,000,171), and Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (851,155).

Fans (50% of the vote) join NBA players (25%) and a media panel (25%) in selecting five players in each conference honored as starters.

Despite sixth not being a bad place to be, it's somewhat surprising given Brown's play this season, especially where the Celtics are at 19-12 (third best record in the East) without Jayson Tatum, while surpassing expectations up to this point with all the roster turnover this past summer.
Brown is in danger of not being named an All-Star starter (which would be a first in his career), as it currently stands -- with a final decision determined by players and the media. Fans voting represents 50% of the vote to determine the five players from each conference honored as starters for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, with current NBA players and a media panel accounting for 25% each. All-Star reserves are selected by the NBA's 30 head coaches.
The 2026 NBA All-Star game is set to take place on February 15th in Los Angeles at the Intuit Dome.
