According to ESPN's Marc Stein, the New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to trade guard Austin Rivers to Boston as part of what is now a three-team swap between the Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies.
Stein tweeted out Saturday afternoon that Austin Rivers, Tayshaun Prince and a future first round draft pick are heading to Boston, Jeff Green heads to Memphis.
The Grizzlies agreed to send Prince and a future first round pick to the Celtics last night, but the deal was never finalized.
Also, according to New Orleans' The Times Picayune , league sources have confirmed that the Pelicans will receive forward Quincy Pondexter from Memphis in the deal.
Today, rumors emerged that the Celtics were trying to get the Pelicans involved, but the chatter around the league was that New Orleans was going to send over forward John Salmons' expiring contract to the Celtics. Rivers, like Salmons, also has an expiring contract.
Rivers has had an underwhelming NBA career so far. After an impressive one-and-done season at Duke, Rivers was selected tenth in the 2012 NBA Draft.
Now in his third season, Rivers is averaging 7 points, and 2.5 assists in 22 minutes.
