The 2026 NBA All-Star Game featured a new revamped three team format -- USA Stars, USA Stripes, and World -- competing in a round-robin tournament made up of 12-minute games. It was both USA squads that advanced to the championship matchup as the top two teams, with Stars winning over Stripes in blowout fashion 47-21.
The first game featured the USA Stars Team, made up of the league's rising young talent, against the World Team, which consisted of all international players, opened the main event of the weekend in a tightly contested tilt that Stars pulled out a 37-35 victory.
Jaylen Brown, and the rest of USA Stripes watched from a practice gym, taking advantage to study their upcoming opponents as they played against the winner of Game 1.
"It's always good to watch and get to see what the vibe is," Brown said during a break in the action. "I watch a lot of film of tendencies of these guys, so I'm doing some up close and personal data research right now."
The Celtics All-Star finished with 11 points on 5-of-9 from the field, three rebounds and a block in nine minutes of action, as USA Stripes beat USA Stars 42-40 in Game 2.
USA Stripes took on the World Team in the third game with a chance to play for the championship round on the line. While Brown went scoreless, he did have two back-to-back blocks on Jamal Murray in the closing minute and it was all about Kawahi Leonard -- who went off for 31 points on 11-of-13 shooting, including going 6-of-7 from deep, as the only one to reach double-figures for USA Stripes -- to edge the World Team 48-45 and reach the finals of the tournament.
However, in the All-USA championship round, Stripes couldn't stop the Stars squad, as they lost by 26 and Anthony Edwards earned the Kobe Bryant All-Star MVP trophy after scoring 32 points across three games.
Brown tallied 15 points on 7-of-22 from the field, five rebounds, two assists, one steal and three blocks in the three games played of the new NBA All-Star Game format Sunday at the Intuit Dome to conclude the weekend.
