Kristaps Porzingis out, Jayson Tatum questionable ahead of Clippers matchup

The Celtics will not be at full strength once again when they face the Clippers in Los Angeles Saturday afternoon.

Kristaps Porzingis (ankle sprain) and Luke Kornet (adductor sprain) have been listed as out, while Jayson Tatum (ankle sprain) and Svi Mykhailiuk (heel contusion) are considered questionable -- per the team's announcement Friday night.

Boston was without Tatum in their 144-119 blowout win over the Sacramento Kings, but it was that same game where Porzinigis rolled his left ankle landing on another player's foot. The veteran big man, who didn't suit up in Tuesday night's overtime loss to the Golden State Warriors to rest a calf injury from late last month, sustained his latest aliment at the start of the third quarter against the Kings.

Porzingis stayed in the game, finishing with 24 points, nine rebounds and six blocks in 29 minutes of action before sitting out the fourth quarter.

As for Tatum, who suffered the ankle sprain in the first quarter of the Celtics loss to the Warriors in OT, sat out against the Kings Wednesday. However, he did participate in a light workout with the team on Friday before being listed as questionable and a decision will be made closer to tip-off of the matchup versus the Clippers.

Meanwhile, Kornet's left adductor sprain was the result of a dunk in team warmups last week and he'll be sidelined for at least another seven days.

Look for Al Horford to start in Porzingis' place in his return from sitting out against Sacramento due to rest on a second night of a back-to-back and additional minutes for Neemias Queta -- who has taken advantage of his opportunities as of late, playing in the rotation as the main backup center.

Celtics (21-6) and Clippers (17-11) tip-off at 3:30 pm ET Saturday from Crypto.com Arena.
