Boston currently sits at the top of the NBA's In-Season Tournament East Group C, having won their previous two games against the Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors respectively. Their matchup against the Magic will be there third and a victory would put them in a great position to qualify into the next round -- which would be the knockout stage.
With the loss of the defensive presence that Holiday brings, the Celtics will start Al Horford in a double-big lineup with Kristaps Porzingis.
Orlando at 10-5, are currently second in the East and have won five straight heading into today's game, while the Celtics sit at the top of the conference with a 12-3 record.
Jaylen Brown, meanwhile, who was listed as questionable on Thanskgiving Day with a groin strain he suffered last Sunday against the Raptors -- was upgraded to available and will start in the backcourt alongside Derrick White.
Boston and the Magic tip-off in a 2:30 pm ET Friday matinee at Amway Center on NBA TV.
