Rajon Rondo out indefinitely with thumb injury
On Friday morning, the Chicago Bulls announced that point guard Rajon Rondo has a right thumb fracture, and will miss Game 3 of their first-round matchup against the Celtics, he's out indefinitely per team officials.
According to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated, who first broke the story, x-rays on Rondo's thumb revealed the injury likely suffered in Game 2 and will not require any type of surgery.
Rondo is averaging 11.5 points, 10 assists and 8.5 rebounds through the Bulls first two games against Boston. The veteran finished with 11 points, 14 assists, 9 rebounds and 5 steals in Tuesday night's victory at the TD Garden.
The Bulls have a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven series, that will resume on Friday night at the United Center.
Stay tuned for any updates as they become available.
